Physical Therapy Internship at Akbar Kare Institute

Join Akbar Kare Institute as a Physical Therapy Intern to work with children with disabilities. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in pediatric rehabilitation under the guidance of experienced professionals.

Role Purpose

The Physical Therapy Intern will work under the supervision of senior pediatric physical therapists to provide therapeutic interventions for children with disabilities. This role is crucial in supporting the mission of Akbar Kare Institute, which is dedicated to improving the lives of children with disabilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Comply with the mission statement of Akbar Kare to improve the lives of children with disabilities by considered application of interventions.
  • Assist in the assessment and evaluation of children with neurodevelopmental, musculoskeletal, or other physical disabilities.
  • Attend clinical teaching sessions, workshops, and in-service training programs conducted at the institute.
  • Support the delivery of therapeutic interventions such as neurodevelopmental therapy (NDT), task-oriented movement therapy, and motor learning activities.
  • Participate in creating and implementing individualized treatment plans under supervision.
  • Work closely with the multidisciplinary team to ensure holistic patient care.
  • Prepare and present case studies, assignments, and learning materials.
  • Attend case discussions and contribute insights during multidisciplinary team meetings.

Qualifications & Experience

To be considered for this internship, candidates must possess the following qualifications:

  • Doctor of Physical Therapy
  • Interest in pediatric rehabilitation and willingness to learn advanced techniques.
  • Strong observational and communication skills.
  • Proficient in Pashto, Urdu, and English.
  • Basic knowledge of developmental disabilities, orthotics, and assistive devices is an advantage.
